Arlington, TX - May 4, 2024 - The Birmingham Stallions became the first team to secure a playoff spot in the United Football League (UFL) Conference Championship game with their 39-21 win over the Memphis Showboats.
The 6-0 Stallions also established a USFL/XFL record as the fastest team in history to clinch a playoff berth. This remarkable achievement underscores the team’s consistent performance and determination throughout the season.
Heading into today’s game, the Stallions led the league in numerous categories, showcasing their dominance across both offense and defense. They ranked #1 in total yards, rushing yards, yards per reception, total offense, all-purpose yards, first downs, field goals made, punt return yards, sacks, rushing touchdowns allowed, scoring allowed, and first downs allowed. This exceptional performance in key statistical areas demonstrates the team’s all-around strength and adaptability.
"We're incredibly proud of this accomplishment, but we know the job isn't finished yet," said head coach Skip Holtz. "Our focus remains on the regular season, taking each week one game at a time. The playoffs are an exciting goal, but our priority is to finish the season strong and give our best in every game."
The UFL Conference Championship games are scheduled for the weekend of June 8-9.
The UFL Championship game will be played at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis on June 16.
