Five Local Sports Teams Partner Together To Combat Hunger in Central Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Join the team! The Birmingham Stallions, Birmingham Barons, Birmingham Bulls, Birmingham Legion FC, and Birmingham Squadron are coming together to combat hunger in Central Alabama with the BHM 5 Food Drive.
From November 7 to November 25, you can drop off food donations at the locations listed below. Recommendations for the most needed types of food are also set forth below. On November 27, the participating teams will deliver the items to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama to be distributed just in time for the holiday season.

Stallions
- Eventive Sports | 600 Luckie Drive, Suite 100, Birmingham AL 35223 (M-F 8:30am – 5:30pm)
Squadron
- 950 22nd Street North, Suite 925, Birmingham, AL (M-F 9am – 5pm)
Legion
- Legion offices | Sports Store | 2226 1st Ave S, Suite 101, Birmingham, AL 35233 (M-F 8am – 5pm)
Barons
- Barons Sports Depot | 1401 1st Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233 (T-Fr 11am – 3pm)
Bulls
- Friday, November 22nd vs Macon Mayhem| Pelham Civic Complex | 500 Amphitheater Road, Pelham AL 35124
Donations are accepted year-round at the Community Foodbank of Central Alabama (107 Walter Davis Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209).
Birmingham Stallions
“I am so grateful we are uniting once again to help those who are struggling with food scarcity and bring awareness to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. We need all the Stallions’ fans and Birmingham sports fans to come together and help us fill up a truckload of much-needed food items to donate during this holiday season,” said Birmingham Stallions Head Coach Skip Holtz.
Birmingham Squadron
"Giving back to the community that supports us is paramount to who we are as a team," said Birmingham Squadron general manager Leslie Claybrook. "Partnering with the other local professional sports teams is something special to us as we continue to build here in the Magic City."
Birmingham Legion FC
“Legion FC is excited to participate in the BHM5 Food Drive again! This is a great opportunity to join other Birmingham teams to make a positive impact in our community,” said Legion FC President/GM Jay Heaps.
Birmingham Barons
“The Barons have always aimed to be active community partners and to be able to jointly work with all our Birmingham sports teams is quite a wonderful opportunity in having a unified goal and ultimately helping those in need,” said Jonathan Nelson, President & General Manager.
Birmingham Bulls
“The Bulls have had a wonderful relationship with CFOCA over the past few seasons. We are super excited to be working together with them and with all the pro sports organizations in Birmingham. Pasta, Rice, Quinoa (or Other Healthy Carbohydrates)

100% Fruit Juice (Canned, Plastic Bottles, or Boxes)
Shelf-Stable Milk (Dairy or Non-Dairy Alternatives such as Oat, Almond, Coconut, etc.)
AND... other healthy, low-fat, low-sodium, and low-sugar products!
PLEASE AVOID: Sodas, candy, junk food, alcoholic beverages, homemade items, open/used items, items in a glass container, or perishable products.The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama supplies millions of meals per year to over 230 partner agencies, like food pantries, shelters, and children’s programs in 12 counties across central Alabama.
